Summary :We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Unix System Administrator to join our IT Operations team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation, performance, and security of our Unix-based systems. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals with L1 and L1.5 experience to gain valuable skills and contribute to a growing IT environment.Responsibilities :- Perform routine system administration tasks on Unix servers (e.g., user management, disk space management, file system permissions).- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot basic technical issues.- Install, configure, and maintain software applications.- Apply security patches and updates to ensure system stability and mitigate vulnerabilities.- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell).- Assist senior system administrators with more complex tasks (L1.5).- Document procedures and maintain clear technical records.- Respond to user requests related to Unix systems in a timely and courteous manner.- Escalate complex issues to senior administrators as necessary.Qualifications :- Minimum 1+ years of experience in a Unix system administration role (L1) or 2+ years (L1.5).- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux fundamentals (file system navigation, basic commands, user management).- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell) preferred (L1.5).- Working knowledge of system administration concepts like security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong communication and collaboration skills.- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing environments.- A passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.
