SportsGameX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our data team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing and implementing robust data pipelines for our advanced analytics and machine learning applications.Position Overview : As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of gathering, transforming, and storing large-scale data efficiently on cloud platforms. You will work collaboratively in a small team environment, contributing to key decision-making in our data infrastructure.Key Responsibilities : Data Acquisition :- Write efficient scripts to gather large-scale data from diverse sources using APIs.- Implement data extraction techniques to ensure data quality and accuracy.Data Transformation :- Apply advanced transformations to raw data, ensuring it is cleansed, normalized, and ready for downstream processing.- Utilize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to enhance data quality and usability.Cloud Storage :- Design and implement scalable solutions for storing and managing data on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).- Optimize data storage for cost efficiency and performance.Data Modeling :- Develop and implement effective data models to support analytics and reporting requirements.- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and create appropriate models.Schema Design :- Create and maintain database schemas to facilitate efficient data retrieval and analysis.- Ensure schema designs align with business objectives and support evolving data requirements.Pipeline Creation :- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines to facilitate fast and efficient data processing.- Optimize pipelines for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.Qualifications :- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.- Proven experience (4+ years) in data engineering roles with a focus on large-scale data processing.- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java) and experience with data manipulation libraries.- Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hands-on experience with cloud-based data storage solutions.- Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and database optimization.- Previous experience in a small team environment where key decisions were made.
