Software Engineer .Net C# and Python / Robot Framework What you'll do :As part of the Avalara Returns Engineering team, you will be a part of a high-performing group dedicated to crafting and sustaining automated solutions that facilitate our customers' filing of large volumes of indirect tax returns. In this role, you'll not only refine your automation development expertise using Avalara's advanced tech stack but also delve into the intricacies of one of the oldest and most complex challenges of the world: Taxation. If you are a problem solver and feels motivated in solving complex problem, this job is for you. - Collaborate with the technical design team to implement new features in alignment with project objectives. - Develop automation codes and conduct end-to-end testing in collaboration with testers to ensure product reliability.- Uphold overall product quality by identifying and addressing bugs, as well as enhancing performance. - Conduct code reviews to maintain coding standards and practices. - Provide support for QA processes and assist with deployments. - Monitor and maintain code in production, resolving issues within specified timelines. - Adhere to agile methodologies (Kanban/Scrum) throughout the development/maintenance lifecycle. - Take a leading role in fostering a "Quality First, Zero Defects" culture and actively promote the Shift Left approach to software development and testing.What you'll need to be successful : Qualifications : - Bachelor/master's degree in computer science or equivalent engineering - 3-8 years of relevant work experience in a software development/ process automation role. - Excellent logical and problem solving skills. - Experience in writing unit and integration tests. - Prior experience working within an agile team is essential.- Proficient in object-oriented design & development, and common design patterns. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Professional demeanour, team player and positive attitude. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.- Ability to work effectively in a dispersed team environment. Technical Skills : - Expert level proficiency in .Net C# and Python/Robot Framework - Solid understanding of server-side programming models and REST API standards. - Knowledge on any relational database like SQL. - Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms, preferably AWS. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines. - Proficient in using Git Source Control. - Familiarity with web scraping frameworks.
