Role : Database Administrator (DBA)Experience : 5 to 12 Yrs of ExperienceLocation : ChennaiNotice Period : ImmediateRequirements :- Bachelor or Graduate Degree in computer science, engineering or information systems.- 5-12 years' experience as a DBA- Minimum 3+ years into Vertica DBA- Minimum 1+ years into any one of the cloud services DB like Redshift, Big Query- Experience in Vertica EON Mode- 24/7 support is Mandatory- Experience in DB Tuning and performance - must.- Scripting capability in Shell / PL / SQL- must.- Hands-on with Unix/Linux OS - Mandatory.- Experience with AWS / bigdata systems is an advantage.- Team player, self-learner.- Understanding of networking concepts for Vertica integrations and data security- Deep knowledge on RBAC with Vertica and AWS integrationResponsibilities :- Understanding of Vertica architecture & migration, install, configure, manage Vertica system and managing Vertica backup, recovery & restore, OS patching.- Experience in handling min of 3 nodes cluster- Hands-on with Node management/cluster management/Workload management.- Experience migrating data across multiple platforms- Installation, integration, and configuration of DB on Linux, AWS or any cloud services.- Building shell scripts and SQL for DB monitoring and automation.- Responsible for all DB technical support aspects required by the users.- Excellent user interaction interface with the ability to respond to user calls / requests independently.- Work closely with the management on user updates and future plans- Daily maintenance and problem resolution, System patches and software upgrades, and routine system configuration- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to the DB with good troubleshooting and root cause findings.- Implement data security measures to safeguard sensitive information stored in the databases.- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security- Implementing best practises- Maintaining detailed documentation of DB configurations, process and procedures- Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
