Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in scaling engineering teams, managing complex technical projects, and driving technical excellence.Responsibilities : -Lead and manage the engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing top engineering talent.- Define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the company.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and drive execution.- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable software solutions.- Scale best practices for software development, including microservices, multi-tenanted, distributed systems, multi-cloud deployments (AWS/GCP), GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC).- Familiarity with data security principles, compliance requirements, and governance frameworks.- Comfortable with major languages, and frameworks including Node.js, Python, Java, and Go, and databases/data lakes including SQL, NoSQL, Snowflake/Athena.- Also, manage frontend development teams for reacting-based frameworks.- Ensure the highest standards of quality through thorough testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.- Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering organization.Requirements :- Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science and Engineering.- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (e. g., Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering).- Proven track record of successfully scaling engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects.- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-based systems, and multi-cloud deployments.- Experience with best practices such as GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and thorough testing methodologies.- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional leadership and manage technical vendors and agencies.- Experience in the logistics industry or a related field is a plus.
