AWS PostgreSQL Database Administrator.Exp: 5-6 Yrs Budget: 10-12 L / AnnumOur Working hours: 1:30 - 11 PM & 5 days Week Work (Sat & Sun - Fixed Off)Work From HomeWe Prefer candidates who can join Immediate or with < 30 days notice period.Job Title: AWS PostgreSQL Database AdministratorJob Description:Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced AWS PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database architecture, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle large-scale databases in a cloud environment.Key Responsibilities:Database Management:- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS.- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.- Manage database access and ensure data security.Performance Tuning and Optimization:- Perform query optimization and performance tuning.- Analyze and resolve database performance issues.- Implement automated processes for monitoring and performance enhancements.Backup and Recovery:- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.- Ensure data integrity and implement disaster recovery plans.- Perform regular backup tests to ensure data recoverability.Security Management:- Ensure databases are compliant with company security policies and industry standards.- Implement encryption and security measures to safeguard sensitive data.- Regularly audit database security and resolve any identified vulnerabilities.Database Design and Development:- Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas, tables, and indexes.- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.- Assist in data modeling and database design activities.Automation and Scripting:- Develop automation scripts for database management tasks using tools like AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, or other relevant technologies.- Utilize automation for routine maintenance tasks and performance monitoring.Cloud Management:- Manage PostgreSQL databases using AWS services such as RDS, EC2, and S3.- Optimize database instances and manage scaling based on demand.- Monitor and manage costs associated with database resources.Troubleshooting and Support:- Provide database support and resolve issues as they arise.- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot application issues related to the database.- Offer 24/7 support for critical production systems as part of an on-call rotation.Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Experience:- 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL.- 3+ years of experience managing databases on AWS.Skills:- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and internals.- Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning.- Experience with AWS RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and other relevant services.- Knowledge of backup and recovery processes, security management, and disaster recovery planning.- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:- AWS Certified Database - Specialty or other relevant AWS certifications.- Experience with other database systems such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Work Environment:- This position can be remote or based in one of our office locations.- May require occasional travel for team meetings or training sessions.
