About the Role :We are seeking a motivated and experienced RHEL Server Administrator to join our team and play a critical role in managing and maintaining our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in Linux administration and security best practices to ensure the smooth operation, performance, and security of our critical servers.Responsibilities :System Administration :- Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers for various purposes (web servers, databases, file servers).- Manage user accounts, groups, and access controls for secure system access.- Perform routine maintenance tasks like package updates, system backups, and performance optimization.- Monitor system logs and proactively identify potential issues for troubleshooting.- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (Bash, Python) to improve efficiency.Security Management :- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.- Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools.- Stay up-to-date with the latest security vulnerabilities and apply necessary patches promptly.Storage Management :- Configure and manage storage solutions (local disks, SAN, NAS) for efficient data storage and access.- Implement disk partitioning, logical volume management (LVM), and file systems.Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:- Diagnose and troubleshoot RHEL server issues to ensure optimal performance and availability.- Analyze system logs to identify the root cause of problems for efficient resolution.- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference and knowledge transfer.Collaboration and Communication :- Collaborate effectively with other IT teams (development, operations) to ensure seamless integration and support.- Communicate system status, maintenance activities, and potential issues to stakeholders clearly and concisely.Skills and Experience :- 3-4 years of hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator in a production environment.- In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and its functionalities.- Proven ability to manage user accounts, groups, and access controls for secure system access.- Experience with system administration tasks like package management, backups, and performance optimization.- Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Python) for automating routine tasks.- Strong understanding of Linux security principles and best practices.- Experience with security tools like firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) is a plus.- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose Linux system issues effectively.- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.Certification (Preferred) :- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.
