Job Description :We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PostgreSQL DBA Developer to join our growing team in a remote work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in PostgreSQL administration, development, and DevOps principles. They will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and developing solutions for our PostgreSQL database infrastructure.Responsibilities :PostgreSQL Administration :- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across a distributed environment.- Perform backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.- Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks for optimization.- Apply security best practices to protect sensitive data within the PostgreSQL environment.- Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for PostgreSQL.SQL Development :- Write efficient and maintainable SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data within PostgreSQL databases.- Develop stored procedures, functions, and triggers to automate complex database operations.- Analyze and optimize SQL code for improved performance and efficiency.DevOps and Automation :- Utilize DevOps principles and tools to automate database provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.- Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions into CI/CD pipelines.- Experience with monitoring tools (eg, Grafana, Prometheus) for database performance visualization is a plus.Skills and Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).- Minimum of 3+ years of experience administering and developing PostgreSQL databases.- Proven experience with SQL development, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, features, and best practices.- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools for database automation.- Experience with data warehousing and monitoring tools is a plus.- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL development is a plus (but not required).- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and prioritize workloads in a remote work environment (ref:hirist.tech)
