Description of the role : We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and fully own the development and delivery of multiple scrum teams. To be successful in this role, you should be confident in managing your teams while, at the same time, setting goals and timelines for various projects. You will also be responsible for integrations with external partners and oversee all software development plans from ideation to execution to testing to release. In this role, you will be required to coordinate with Insurer partners and cross functional stakeholders, manage multiple teams, closely work with the Product Management team and work closely with Software Architects. Responsibilities :- Manage multiple fullstack development teams of Frontend, Backend, QA and Tech leads. - Full adherence of teams to Scrum methodology. - Deliver high quality products in a committed time frame. - Be invested in the development of all your team members. - Ensure product compliance with security regulations. - Monitor reliability and performance of your applications. - Run your teams on a budget by optimizing the utilization of engineers. - Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources. - Hire engineers and work to fulfill their training needs. - Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools. - Innovate on both Products as well Processes. Technical Competencies :- Solid understanding of product development in Insurtech space.- Has a SaaS product development experience - Very good understanding of AWS technologies like EC2, RDS, SQS, ElasticSearch, ELB.- Hands-on experience with Python, Django, Postgresql, MySQL, Docker.- Excellent understanding of Angular or React or Flutter.- Excellent understanding of and experience with Service Based Architectures.- Experience with caching and SQL optimisation techniques.- Solid understanding of REST conventions and concepts.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.- Minimum of 10+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years in leading teams.Behavioral Competencies :- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proactive and transparent communication. - Ability to create great relationships with your team members as well as peers. - Ability to coach your tech leads and engineers. - Is a great team player and puts the company before self. - Has a growth mindset and keeps learning. - Self organized and structured. - Ability to plan work & capacity for mid term, yet deliver few pieces at a time, per sprint (ref:hirist.tech)
