About the Role :We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Data Architect to join our team and lead the migration of our critical databases to the AWS cloud platform. You will leverage your in-depth knowledge of AWS database services and extensive experience in data architecture to design, plan, and execute a successful cloud migration strategy. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a passion for cloud technology and a proven track record of delivering complex database migrations.Responsibilities :- Lead the planning, design, and execution of database migration strategies from on-premises environments to the AWS cloud platform.- Conduct in-depth assessments of existing on-premises databases to identify potential migration challenges and dependencies.- Design and develop optimal migration strategies that minimize downtime and maintain data integrity.- Leverage expertise in AWS database services, including Amazon RDS, Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB, to select the most suitable target architecture for each database.- Utilize the AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and other relevant tools to facilitate seamless and efficient database migration.- Implement robust data transformation and ETL processes to ensure data consistency and accuracy during migration.- Configure and implement appropriate database security measures and compliance standards within the AWS cloud environment.- Optimize database performance and scalability within the AWS cloud to ensure optimal resource utilization.- Document migration processes thoroughly for future reference and knowledge transfer.- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (IT operations, data analysts) to ensure a smooth and successful migration.- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AWS database services and cloud migration best practices.Qualifications :- 15+ years of experience as a Data Architect with a strong focus on database design and management.- Proven track record of successfully migrating complex databases from on-premises environments to the cloud.- In-depth knowledge of AWS database services, including Amazon RDS, Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB.- Proficiency in data modeling, database design, SQL, and data transformation techniques.- Strong understanding of database security principles and compliance regulations.- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.- Experience with data backup, recovery, and rollback procedures during database migration (a plus).- Proficiency with the AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and related tools (a plus).- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization (a plus).- AWS certifications (e., AWS Certified Database-Specialty) are highly desirable.- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills (ref:hirist.tech)
