Description:
The Role:- We are seeking a talented and motivated Physical Design Engineer to join our growing team.- You will play a critical role in the design and implementation of high-performance integrated circuits (ICs), ensuring they meet all physical constraints and performance targets.- Leveraging your expertise in physical design methodologies and industry-standard tools, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge ASICs and SoCs. (Note: ASIC stands for Application-Specific Integrated Circuit and SoC stands for System-on-Chip)Responsibilities :- Participate in the entire physical design flow, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and static timing analysis (STA).- Develop and implement floorplans that optimize area, power, and performance for complex digital designs.- Perform placement of standard cells and custom macros to meet timing and power constraints.- Design and implement clock trees with minimal skew and ensure signal integrity throughout the design.- Perform detailed routing of signals while adhering to design rules and meeting timing closure requirements.- Utilize STA tools to analyze timing paths, identify and resolve timing violations, and ensure design meets target frequencies.- Participate in physical verification (DRC/LVS) to ensure the physical layout accurately reflects the logical design.Generate and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to address routing or timing issues identified during design verification.Collaborate with design and verification engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the physical design.Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in physical design methodologies and industry-standard tools.Maintain accurate and complete design documentation for future reference.Technical Skills (Required) :- 3-8 years of experience in physical design of integrated circuits (ICs).- Strong understanding of physical design concepts, methodologies, and best practices.- Proficiency in industry-standard physical design tools (e.g, Cadence Innovus, ICC, Synopsys PrimeTime).- Knowledge of digital design concepts, logic synthesis, and clock tree synthesis principles.- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) techniques.- Experience with scripting languages (e.g, TCL, Perl) for automating physical design tasks (a plus).- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines (ref:hirist.tech)
