Description:
Responsibilities :- Lead the design and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to thoroughly validate software functionalities.- Analyze test results, identify potential issues, and meticulously document and report defects using bug tracking systems.- Collaborate effectively with developers to troubleshoot and resolve reported defects, ensuring timely solutions and a smooth development process.- Create and maintain clear and concise test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts, for future reference and knowledge sharing.- Conduct thorough functional, regression, and system testing to guarantee exceptional software quality across all functionalities.- Partner with cross-functional teams, such as product managers and business analysts, to gain a deep understanding of user requirements and ensure the software delivers a seamless user experience.- Stay at the forefront of the testing industry by actively seeking out and learning the latest best practices, trends, and technologies in functional testing.- Participate actively in team discussions, code reviews, and process improvement initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.Requirements :- 7-9 years of demonstrable experience as a Functional Test Engineer or a similar role.- In-depth understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and software testing methodologies, including best practices for test design, execution, and reporting.- Proven track record of creating, executing, and maintaining effective test plans, test cases, and test scripts.- Hands-on experience with bug tracking systems (e.g, Jira) and test management tools (e.g, Zephyr).- Solid experience in conducting functional, regression, and system testing to identify and address software defects effectively.- A strong understanding of SQL and the ability to write complex queries to analyze database content and identify potential issues.- Familiarity with automated testing tools like Selenium or Cucumber (a plus).- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot complex software issues.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to foster strong relationships with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) (ref:hirist.tech)
