Job Title Discipline Engineer – Fire & Smoke Purpose of the Job/Objective Perform Fire & Smoke analysis & documents in accordance with QCD commitments Apply the Alstom processes & instruction Organisation Reporting Hierarchical: Domain leader – Specialized disciplines Functional: TPM or TDE for tender/project support, as per the project organisation Network & Links Core Competence Network (CCN) fire and smoke: CCN Leader Fire Safety, FS Engineers from other sites Site Engineering: Design Engineers, mechanical engineers, industrialization, Train Design Engineer (TDE), Train Performance Manager (TPM), Train Architect Manager (TAM), Train System Engineer (TSE), Train Sub System Manager/Engineer, TSS RAMS Managers, Project Certification Manager (PrCM) Project: Project Engineering Manager (PrEM), Project Operation Manager (PrOM) Products: Product architects (PA), Product managers (PM) Industrial: Project Industrial Manager (PrIM), Industrial Quality: Industrial Quality Manager, QSRW: Project Quality and Safety Manager (PrQSM), Supplier Product Quality Development (SPQD) Sourcing: Buyers, and SPQD team Integrating & Participating Units: Fire & Smoke specialists, RAMS leaders, WP owners External Interface: External Suppliers, External Laboratories for F&S tests, Customers, Fire & Smoke Authorities, External Auditors Responsibilities At tender phase, analyze the requirement and provide the compliance status. Highlight any risks and provide optimized costing. At project execution stage, deliver Fire & Smoke analysis (Fire & Smoke Report, test monitoring…) compliant with QCD work packages commitments. At product development stage, set the relevant targets depending on the applicable standards and regulations and customers targeted, for internal development (make) and external (COS). Assure the right deployment (standards, tests, simulations…) for covering Fire & Smoke requirements at design/manufacturing level. Pilot the use of database MADAM. Apply Alstom processes within the Group. Support the deployment of processes, methodologies, simulations, and available fire safety data management (ReX) and storage tools Raise an issue at N+1 in case of gaps / abnormality /incompliancy Participate to relevant DR and GR meeting to ensure Fire and Smoke performance conformity Knowledge & Experience : Fire & Safety or Mechanical or Materials Engineering degree, At least 2 years of experience in R&D, Design in Aeronautical, Automotive, Manufacturing or Railways engineering department within. Good Communications and interpersonal skills Time Management skills Sense of priorities Customer Focus Structured and pro-activity, team working, strategic vision Implement relevant Fire and Smoke R&D results in projects Basic knowledge on mechanical conception and CAD software (Catia preferred) Management skills to lead tender/project and R&D actions with a transversal approach English conversational/writing/reading advanced level Skill to read and interpret standards, and to lead design-reviews and propose solutions.
