The Functional Safety Architect plays a critical role in shaping the safety architecture of automotive and aerospace systems, ensuring they comply with stringent international safety standards. This position requires an expert level of knowledge in functional safety, along with the ability to design and oversee the implementation of safety architectures that meet or exceed industry requirements.Key Responsibilities:- Design Safety Architectures: Lead the development of safety architectures for complex systems, ensuring compliance with ISO26262, IEC 61508, and other relevant standards.- Safety Strategy Development: Formulate strategic safety plans that align with organizational goals and project requirements.- Advanced Safety Analyses: Conduct advanced safety analyses, including but not limited to FMEA, FTA, and DFA, to identify risks at the system architecture level.- Integration of Safety Principles: Ensure the integration of safety principles into all stages of product development, from concept to deployment.- Safety Standards Expertise: Act as the organization's leading authority on functional safety standards, providing guidance and making key decisions on safety-related matters.- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in implementing safety architectures, ensuring cohesive efforts across engineering disciplines.- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex safety architectures and principles to stakeholders, including engineering teams, management, and external partners.- Training and Mentoring: Develop and provide specialized training and mentoring to engineers and project teams on safety architecture and compliance.- Innovative Safety Solutions: Drive the adoption of innovative safety technologies and methodologies to enhance system safety and efficiency.- Safety Compliance Oversight: Oversee the documentation and evidence generation required for safety standard compliance audits.- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership in safety-related discussions and decisions, influencing project directions and outcomes.- Continuous Safety Improvement: Lead efforts to continuously improve the organization's safety practices, staying ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes.- Technologies to be used: Advanced knowledge and application of ISO 26262, FMEA, FTA, DFA, along with other reliability engineering tools.Qualifications: Engineering degree with 8-10 years of experience in functional safety, particularly within the Automotive/Aerospace sectors.Knowledge: Deep understanding of functional safety requirements and standards (ISO26262, IEC 61508), with an ability to apply these in innovative and effective ways.Skills: - Strong leadership and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to mentor and influence others.- Attitude: Proactive, strategic thinker with a commitment to safety excellence, quality results, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.- Work Environment: A collaborative and innovative work environment that values clear communication, leadership, and a shared commitment to safety and quality.- Key Performance Indicators: Success in this role is measured by the effective implementation of safety architectures, compliance with safety standards, leadership in safety initiatives, and contribution to project successes.- Salary and Benefits: A competitive salary, with a comprehensive benefits package that supports professional growth, innovation, and work-life balance.- Company Overview: A forward-thinking technology company at the forefront of developing autonomous, clean, smart, and connected mobility solutions. - Dedicated to engineering excellence, the company fosters a culture of innovation, diversity, and long-term growth.
