About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Middleware Administrator to join our dynamic Development IT organization. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation, performance optimization, and automation of our middleware infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in DevOps methodologies and open-source middleware tools to pioneer new technologies, lead enterprise deployments, and develop best practices for our evolving IT environment.Responsibilities:Middleware Management:- Install, configure, and manage various middleware platforms (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ) according to best practices.- Administer user accounts, roles, and security settings for secure access to middleware resources.- Monitor middleware performance metrics, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to optimize application performance.- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve middleware-related incidents and ensure timely issue resolution.DevOps and Automation:- Champion DevOps principles and practices within the middleware team.- Develop and implement automation scripts using open-source tools to automate administrative tasks and deployment processes.- Integrate middleware deployments with CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.- Collaborate with product development and operational teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.Technology Leadership:- Pioneer the adoption of new and emerging middleware technologies in collaboration with development and operations teams.- Lead and plan the deployment of new enterprise technologies across development, test, and production environments.- Develop and document best practices, standards, and procedures for middleware deployments and operations.Technical Expertise:- Extensive experience with various middleware platforms (WebLogic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat, etc.).- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies.- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, PowerShell) for automation development.- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) (a plus).- Working knowledge of database administration principles and tools (a plus).- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.- Experience with Web Services (SOAP & RESTful).- Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in administering middleware platforms (L3) with a strong track record of success.- Proven experience in DevOps methodologies and utilizing open-source tools for automation.- Demonstrated ability to lead and plan enterprise technology deployments.- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.- A passion for technology and continuous learning.
