Summary: The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead, plans, assigns, and leads the work of an assigned team engaged in performing S4/Hana programming, design, testing, and debugging work related to the implementation, enhancement, and support of SAP modules; personally, performs the more difficult system analysis, design, and programming work of the team. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead reviews work products to ensure completeness, accuracy, functionality among modules and application systems, and adherence to established priorities, project plans, deadlines, and requirements. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead confers with management and functional teams to ensure the proper integration of business processes and procedures with information technology and to identify innovative customer solutions. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead advises management of the overall estimates, cost, efficiency considerations, operating advantages and disadvantages, and tools, processes and personnel resources associated with delivering business requirements or specifications using SAP solutions. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead consults with other SAP and IT teams such as Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Networking, Data, Infrastructure, and Integration to identify and resolve unique problems and to ensure the effective integration of solutions among SAP modules are delivered. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead defines highly complex technical requirements for ongoing systems maintenance and future functionality to meet business requirements and improve system effectiveness and efficiency. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead coordinates and participates in the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive and thorough technical program documentation for assigned projects using automated tools where possible. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead provides on-the-job coaching and technical assistance to assigned SAP Development and related staff. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with business process owners, functional and technical team members, and users. The Senior SAP Developer Tech Lead plays a crucial role in formulating strategies for the optimal utilization of SAP Development practices, utilizing the right set of technologies, tools and processes to support the strategic intent of JDS/Hollister. Responsibilities: SAP Development Leadership Plans, assigns, and leads the work of an assigned team engaged in performing S4/Hana programming, design, testing, and debugging work related to the implementation, enhancement, and support of SAP modules. Performs the more difficult system analysis, design, and programming work of the team. Mentors SAP Development team and shares knowledge in a deliberate fashion. Nurtures and owns SAP Development standards including standards for Development non-functional requirements, cybersecurity (safe coding practices) as well as standards for newer SAP technologies. Envisions and introduces new capabilities to meet business standards. Maintains in-depth working knowledge of business and technology. Recommends new processes, methods, or technologies to meet business/technical needs. Ensures the team is motivated with SAP development and related work. Bring ideas to management to keep team motivated to enable a high-performance environment. Collects and publishes service level metrics as required. SAP Development Requirements and Design partnership Partners with the Business, Business Analysts (BA), Application Owners (AO), and/or the BRM (Business Relationship Manager) Brainstorms solution options working closely with the BA brining optimal technical approaches in SAP. Partners with the BA, working together resolving business problems and identifying appropriate required documentation, data, and logic. Consults with Business, Business Analysts (BA), Application Owners (AO), and/or the BRM (Business Relationship Manager) when additional information is needed as solutions are implemented Effectively partners with other IT Groups to deliver IT Services Collaborates with PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Integrations, Automation, Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, Business Analysts, and Database Architecture functions to meet business needs while ensuring application Global IT standards and procedures are followed. Works closely with project managers and agile leads (Scrum Masters, Team Coaches) both within the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and the business. Works within international business teams and participates in project and other meetings with international colleagues. Flexible work hours to meet international timelines. SAP Design and Development Identifies, streamlines, and adopts SAP best practices, technologies and tools that’ll meet the given set of requirements in compliance with Hollister development standards, Architectural guidelines, and system landscape. Estimates work packages in effort and duration identifying training, travel, and resource requirements to adequately deliver a set of business requirements. Leads the creation and modification of development objects based on design specifications and development standards. Participates in projects (i.e., Global SAP roll outs, Projects, Incremental releases, Work Requests, process improvements, etc.) Performs unit testing and participate in integration testing of development objects. Assist junior developers in team with estimating, designing, developing, debugging and unit testing SAP development. Creates technical specifications based on functional requirements provided by the process organization. Diagnoses and resolve application related issues. Provides technical support for Business Analysts. SAP Development - modern software development lifecycle Drives continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices, ensuring seamless software deployment championing incremental releases, collaborate within Agile frameworks, and streamline development processes to deliver value efficiently. Assists BA’s, AO’s, Project Managers and technology teams with Release planning, system compliance and governance. Establish and tracks appropriate metrics and key performance indicators. Implement processes, tools, and supports ongoing service level measurement metrics and reporting. Maintain and supports processes and ensures ongoing communication of such processes to internal teams and business customers. Incident management Assign incidents appropriately and manages the delivery of the DevOps pipeline (SAP Development work). Escalate issues; engage vendor support; provide timely response to customer escalations. Participates in data center disaster recovery planning and execution. SAP Development Continuous improvement Assists and identifies avenues for continuous improvement for services within scope of responsibilities including new approaches and processes that would contribute to improvements within department and to business growth and efficiencies. Remains current with emerging industry standards, including obtaining and/or maintaining required certifications. Makes recommendations regarding new technologies and their uses to management. Identifies avenues for continuous improvement for services within scope of responsibility, including new approaches and processes that would contribute to improvements within department and to business growth/efficiency in the wider organization. Performs other duties as assigned related to this function globally. Essential Functions of the Role**: Talk on phone with supplies and Hollister Associates. Read technical manuals / trade journals. Responds to system issues, including high priority incident calls and emergency activities outside of standard office hours as needed. Work Experience Requirements 1 2 + years of experience as a Software Developer i n SAP 3 + years of working a s a Tech Lead in SAP Development Education Requirements BS/BA - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience working in a dynamic environment: Experience leading local and remote teams responsible for incremental software delivery in a variety of SAP modules, tools, and technologies. Experience i n Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales OR In an Enterprise with multiple global locations, integrating with multiple enterprise systems and applications. Experience d eveloping SAP programs, or updating existing programs, by researching technical / programmatic / SAP extension options, reviewing functional specifications, and deciding on the best technical approach based on technical best practices while keeping the SAP Core-Clean. Experience p rogramming in SAP with proper error handling and logging while advancing these frameworks aligned to the evolving needs Experience d ebugging and troubleshooting any SAP programs effectively and with speed Experience identifying, streamlining and adopting SAP coding standards and best practices tailored to the overall enterprise. Experience with reliability engineering - monitoring, logging, and alerting in SAP. Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
