Job Description :As a NetBackup Administrator with 7+ years of experience, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the NetBackup infrastructure. Your role involves ensuring the integrity, availability, and reliability of data backup and recovery operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business continuity and disaster recovery objectives.Key Responsibilities :NetBackup Infrastructure Management : - Design, implement, and maintain the NetBackup infrastructure to support data backup, recovery, and archival operations.Backup and Recovery Operations : - Configure and manage backup policies, schedules, and retention policies.- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful data backups and recoveries.Storage Management : - Manage storage devices, libraries, and tape drives.- Monitor storage utilization, capacity planning, and performance optimization.Disaster Recovery Planning : - Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.- Test and validate backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity.Security and Compliance : - Implement security best practices and compliance requirements for data protection.- Ensure data encryption, access controls, and audit trails are in place to protect sensitive information.Performance Optimization : - Optimize NetBackup configurations for performance and efficiency.- Monitor system performance, analyze bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve backup and recovery times.Documentation and Reporting : - Maintain accurate documentation of NetBackup configurations, procedures, and operational workflows.- Generate reports on backup success rates, storage utilization, and performance metrics.Incident and Problem Management : - Respond to backup failures, incidents, and service requests.- Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurring issues.Qualifications :Experience : - 7+ years of experience as a NetBackup Administrator or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing NetBackup infrastructure.NetBackup Expertise : - Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of backup and recovery operations.Storage Technologies : - Familiarity with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, tape libraries, and disk arrays.- Experience with storage management and capacity planning.Backup and Recovery Concepts : - Understanding of backup and recovery concepts, methodologies, and best practices.- Experience with data deduplication, replication, and snapshot technologies.Disaster Recovery Planning : - Experience in developing and testing disaster recovery plans and procedures.- Knowledge of business continuity principles and practices.Security and Compliance : - Understanding of security principles and compliance requirements for data protection.- Experience implementing security controls and encryption for sensitive data.Scripting and Automation : - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, PowerShell, or Perl for automation and task automation.Problem-Solving Skills : - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.Communication Skills : - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications :Certifications : - Relevant certifications such as Veritas Certified Specialist (VCS) or Veritas Certified Professional (VCP) in NetBackup are preferred.Vendor-specific Training : - Completion of vendor-specific training courses and workshops on NetBackup administration and advanced features.Location : Gurugram (ref:hirist.tech)
