Job Description : As a Storage and Backup Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our storage and backup infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our data storage and backup systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with a range of storage and backup technologies, including Cisco MDS, Pure Storage, NetApp, NetBackup, Data Domain, ECS, and Dell eSRS Gateway.Key Responsibilities : Storage Management : - Configure, deploy, and maintain storage solutions including Pure Storage, NetApp CDOT, Data Domain, ECS, and Dell eSRS Gateway.- Monitor storage capacity, performance, and utilization to ensure optimal performance and scalability.- Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.Backup Administration : - Implement and manage backup solutions using NetBackup to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data.- Develop backup policies and procedures to meet business requirements and compliance standards.- Perform regular backup testing and validation to verify data recoverability and integrity.Infrastructure Maintenance : - Upgrade and patch storage and backup systems to maintain security and compatibility with the latest software versions.- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to schedule and execute infrastructure upgrades and maintenance activities.- Perform routine health checks and proactive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.Monitoring and Reporting : - Implement monitoring solutions such as DCNM and AIQUM to proactively detect and address storage and backup issues.- Generate regular reports on storage and backup performance, capacity, and availability for management review.- Analyze trends and recommend optimizations to enhance system efficiency and performance.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : - Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.- Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members and other IT staff as needed.Project Management : - Participate in storage and backup-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and expansions.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and support storage and backup infrastructure initiatives.Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- 5-8 years of experience in storage and backup administration, with hands-on experience with Cisco MDS, Pure Storage, NetApp CDOT, NetBackup, DataDomain, ECS, and Dell eSRS Gateway.- Solid understanding of storage protocols and technologies such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS.- Experience with storage virtualization and SAN/NAS environments.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage and backup issues.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, NetApp NCDA/NCIE, or Veritas Certified Specialist (VCS) are a plus.
