Job Description :- As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using advanced Python programming and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.- You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform, enhance CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and support DevOps practices.- Your expertise in automation and cloud technologies will be instrumental in driving efficiency and innovation within our projects.Key Responsibilities :Automation Development :- Design and develop advanced automation solutions using Python.- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to automate various tasks and processes.- Develop and maintain scripts for infrastructure automation and management.Cloud Platform Development :- Work with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, or GCP) to develop and deploy automation solutions.- Utilize cloud services to build scalable and resilient automation workflows.- Implement best practices for cloud security, scalability, and cost optimization.Infrastructure as Code :- Use Terraform to define, deploy, and manage infrastructure as code.- Automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.- Ensure infrastructure is version-controlled and auditable.DevOps and CI/CD :- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.- Implement and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and application deployment.- Ensure smooth and reliable deployment of applications and services.Version Control and Collaboration:- Use GitHub for version control and collaboration on code and infrastructure changes.- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.- Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation processes and scripts.Database Management : - Basic understanding of PostgreSQL for database management and automation tasks.- Write and optimize queries for data retrieval and manipulation.- Ensure database automation processes are efficient and reliable.Required Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- 8 to 12 years of experience in automation engineering and development.- Advanced proficiency in Python programming.- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.- Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation.- Experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub.- Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization.- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications :- Master's degree in a related field.- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).- Experience with other scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools.Location : Chennai (ref:hirist.tech)
