Job Description :We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Test Lead to join our team on a contract basis with a strong possibility of transitioning to a full-time employee (FTE) role.In this role, you will be responsible for leading and driving our test automation initiatives, ensuring high-quality software delivery through a robust and efficient testing process.Responsibilities :Test Automation Leadership :Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive test automation strategy across web, API, and mobile applications.Define, implement, and maintain standard test automation processes, methodologies, tools, and templates.Oversee the selection, configuration, and utilization of automation frameworks like Karate with BDD (API), Geb & Spock (Web), and Appium (Mobile) along with Selenium and Appium tools.Mentor and guide automation testers on best practices and troubleshoot complex automation challenges.Technical Expertise :Possess strong hands-on experience in automation framework design and development, with a proven track record of developing or using hybrid frameworks.Demonstrate proficiency in Java programming and automation tools like Selenium, Appium, and BDD principles.Manage and maintain version control using Git and understand build tools like Gradle or Maven (desirable).Test Management :Scope and estimate test automation efforts for user stories.Define and drive project review metrics dashboards to track automation progress and effectiveness.Contribute and collaborate effectively within a CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins.Experience in database testing and knowledge of SQL queries is a plus.Communication and Collaboration :Possess excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with developers, stakeholders, and clients (customer-facing experience is a must).Foster a collaborative and results-oriented testing environment.Qualifications :8-12 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation.In-depth knowledge of Java programming and automation frameworks (Karate/BDD, Geb/Spock, Appium).Proven experience in leading and managing test automation initiatives.Experience with Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins preferred), and build tools (Gradle/Maven a plus).Experience in database testing and SQL is desirable.Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects (ref:hirist.tech)
