Job Description : As a Microsoft Azure Purview Consultant, you will leverage your expertise in data domains to lead client engagements designing and implementing various applications in the areas of data cataloging, data lineage, security, data quality and govern- You will work with diverse enterprises to design and deploy industry-leading solutions to improve the protection of data within their on-premises and cloud environments.- You will work with teams involving security engineers, consultants, and architects on multiple client engagements.- The ideal candidate for this job will be an individual who has strong experience in data cataloging and data lineage and is willing to grow their skillset into other data related areas.Key Responsibilities : Data Landscape Discovery and Cataloging : - Lead data landscape discovery efforts in hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.- Implement data cataloging solutions using Microsoft Purview and other enterprise data catalog tools.- Define and maintain metadata standards and taxonomies to ensure consistent data classification and organization.Data Lineage and Governance : - Implement data lineage capabilities to trace the flow of data across systems and processes.- Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.- Configure and present data lineage in a clear and intuitive manner to support decision-making and regulatory requirements.Data Classification and Security : - Define data classification criteria and implement data classification solutions for structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data assets.- Identify and label sensitive data using out-of-the-box features and custom policies such as rights management and encryption.- Implement data loss prevention measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and disclosure.Integration with Other Azure Technologies : - Leverage your experience with other Azure technologies such as ADLS Gen2, ADF, Databricks, and Snowflake to enhance data governance and analytics capabilities.- Integrate Azure Purview with other Azure services to enable seamless data discovery, ingestion, processing, and analysis.Required Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- 12 to 15 years of experience in data management, with a focus on data cataloging, lineage, and governance.- 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing various enterprise data catalog and lineage capabilities using Microsoft Purview.- 5+ years of experience implementing similar capabilities with other tools such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, or similar.- Strong understanding of data classification, data security, and data privacy principles.- Experience with data loss prevention techniques and technologies.- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data protection (e.g. PHI, PII, HIPAA, PCI).- Experience in configuring and presenting data lineage in a clear and intuitive manner.- Familiarity with Azure technologies and services, particularly ADLS Gen2, ADF, Databricks, and Snowflake.Nice to Have : - Experience with Snowflake and other Azure technologies.- Certification in Azure data-related technologies.- Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and architectures.- Excellent communication and presentation skills.Location : Pan India (ref:hirist.tech)
