Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled COBOL Developer with extensive experience in working with the MTS (Money Transfer System) application. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL programming and a deep understanding of the MTS application architecture and functionalities. As a COBOL developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting the MTS application to ensure its optimal performance and functionality.Responsibilities :- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL programs within the MTS application to meet business requirements.- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications for COBOL development.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements in the MTS application.- Perform unit testing and debugging of COBOL programs to ensure their accuracy and reliability.- Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by users related to the MTS application.- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.- Document technical specifications, program logic, and system configurations for future reference.- Participate in meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project status.- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in COBOL development and MTS application management.- Collaborate with infrastructure and database teams to ensure the smooth integration of COBOL programs with other systems and databases.Requirements :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Minimum [insert number] years of experience in COBOL programming.- Proven experience in working with the MTS (Money Transfer System) application.- Strong understanding of mainframe environments and technologies, including JCL, VSAM, and CICS.- Experience with relational databases, preferably DB2.- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
