Job Description :As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing data migration activities for SAP implementation projects. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to extract, transform, and load data from legacy systems into SAP, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data migration between different SAP functional modules, as well as proficiency in extracting data from SQL databases and performing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.Key Responsibilities :Requirement Analysis and Planning :- Collaborate with clients and project stakeholders to understand data migration requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, and validation criteria.- Conduct data profiling and analysis to assess the quality, complexity, and volume of data to be migrated.- Develop detailed data migration plans, including timelines, resources, and dependencies.Data Extraction and Transformation :- Extract data from source systems, including SAP and non-SAP databases, using SQL queries and ETL tools.- Perform data cleansing, transformation, and enrichment to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with SAP data models and standards.- Develop and implement data migration scripts, programs, and workflows to automate repetitive tasks and streamline migration processes.Data Loading and Validation :- Load transformed data into SAP systems using SAP Data Services, LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench), or other data migration tools.- Conduct data validation and reconciliation activities to verify the accuracy and completeness of migrated data.- Collaborate with business users and subject matter experts to perform data validation tests and resolve discrepancies or errors.Third-Party Migration Integration :- Coordinate with third-party vendors or service providers involved in data migration activities, ensuring seamless integration and data exchange between systems.- Configure and customize third-party migration tools or connectors to meet project requirements and compatibility with SAP environments.- Troubleshoot issues and escalate technical challenges to third-party vendors as needed, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines.Documentation and Reporting :- Create and maintain documentation of data migration processes, procedures, and technical specifications.- Prepare migration status reports, dashboards, and metrics to track progress, identify risks, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.- Document data migration issues, resolutions, and lessons learned for future reference and continuous improvement.Qualifications :- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- 4-7 years of experience in data migration, with a focus on SAP implementations and integration projects.- Strong experience in data migration between different SAP functional modules, such as SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP CRM, SAP SCM, etc.- Proficiency in extracting data from SQL databases using SQL queries and stored procedures.- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as SAP Data Services, Informatica, or Talend.- Experience with third-party migration tools and connectors, preferably in the context of SAP migrations.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data migration challenges and develop effective solutions.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams.
