KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :Extensive experience in data center operations and working knowledge of vendor management Demonstrated experience of Managing/Improving the workflows and throughput for data Centers Operations.ITIL Certification preferred.Electricity, monitoring, and HVAC systems knowledgeKnowledge of local and remote data center design/managementAbility to manage stakeholder relationships including team members, vendors and partnersExcellent leadership and communication skills with ability to present and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audienceAbility to provide technical and professional leadership, guidance, and training to others.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :Assist the Head of IT Infra in developing a short-, medium- and long-term strategy for Data Centre OperationsCollaborate with the Infrastructure Architect for data center architecture related design, as and when the need arisesEnsure that the strategy developed is in sync with the overall IT Strategy and is reviewed regularly to keep it up to dateEnsure that the third-party service providers perform their operations in line with the established strategyEnsure that data center services are managed effectively, including hardware; facilities; virtualization platforms; O/S and database support; and disaster recoveryEnsure that data centers' capacity is managed appropriately e.g., ensure that power and space are utilized to maximum effectivenessPerform analysis of storage and system needs and contribute to design of storage and system architecture, integration and installation.Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day management of all data center operations, policies and procedures. Ensure that all processes are aligned to the drafted policiesAnalyze data center operations process and procedure, identifying weaknesses or deficiencies, and implement improvementsDevelop, run, and effectively maintain strategic supplier relationships and improve vendor performance. Ensure oversight on compliance with SLAs and work closely with the Infrastructure Service Management team to determine performanceDevise new techniques and processes to improve the operating environmentEnsure that relevant documentation is completed and ready at all times. Ensure reporting of data center performance parameters (such as uptime, no. of incidents etc.) to the senior leadership regularlyOversee preparation of emergency operating procedures to efficiently tackle threats/disasters Responsible for overseeing overall data center facilities coordination and disaster recovery. Also, oversee and execute major incident management processes, drive events to ensure that the necessary teams are engaged and focusing on a prompt return to serviceWork closely with the Service Delivery team and act as point of escalation for L2 and above incidentsWork closely with the IT GRC team and provide necessary assistance for audit and assurance related activitiesWork with the PMO team as an when nominated as a project manager to deliver projects related to data centerAct in the capacity of a subject matter expert on data center operationsAssist in the preparation of an annual budget for data center operationsScheduling expenditure; analyzing variances; initiating cost corrective action in guidance from the IT Infrastructure Head, when and where required.Regularly interact with the vendor partners to keep up-to-date on all data center related processes and ensure any mandatory training/communication is disseminated to the vendor partner, as and when requiredKeep abreast with latest trends in the area of data center operationsMaintain expert knowledge of all environmental devices in the data cente (ref:hirist.tech)
