Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team responsible for the support and development of four critical applications in the Insurance Risk domain. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and ongoing enhancement of these applications, which are integral to the client's Insurance risk management business.Responsibilities :Team Leadership :- Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for the support and development of the selected Suite of Insurance risk applications. - Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and growth.Project Management : - Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to the maintenance, enhancement, and enhancements of the applications. - Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely project delivery.Technical Oversight : - Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team in resolving complex issues, implementing best practices, and optimizing performance across the applications. Stakeholder Communication : - Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, including risk management, operations, and executive leadership. - Communicate project statuses, risks, and opportunities effectively, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities.Quality Assurance :- Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the reliability, security, and usability of the applications. - Conduct regular code reviews, performance testing, and system audits to identify and address areas for improvement.Cloud Management :- Manage and optimise Azure cloud resources to ensure application delivery at minimum cost.- Manage the monitoring and ensure the security, availability, and performance of cloud environments.Operations :- Manage monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve production operation issues.- Develop playbooks for responding to monitoring and SIEM alerts.- Check and respond to timely monitoring alerts to ensure system health and customer service delivery.Skills Requirements :- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.- Proven experience 12-14 years in software engineering and development, with a focus on web-based applications.- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.- In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks, including Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and terraform, including Azure DevOps services. - Proficiency in .net, Angular and react and C# programming.- Relevant certifications in Azure (eg. Azure DevOps Engineer) are a plus.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.- Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry.- Experience with Enterprise Risk Management tools and technologies is a plus.- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
