Description:
Excelra - Hyderabad - Hybrid Quality Engineer, is a team member who brings a 'testing mindset' to the team, and is responsible fortesting and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business outcomes. They are a subject matter expert on testing practices ensuring the testing strategy and processes are welldefined and continuously improved for the team or teams. Key responsibilities of the role include :- Establishing a test and automation strategy, creating common test frameworks, defining and managing test processes including test data generation, defect management and reporting. - A Quality Engineer, is an individual contributor to a team or across multiple teamsMandatory Key Skills :- Have familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, forwriting automated test scripts.- Understand fundamental programming concepts like data structures, algorithms, and object-orientedprogramming.Have knowledge of version control systems, such as Git, for managing and sharing code.- Possess the ability to work with databases and SQL for testing purposes.- Basic Database or SQL skills- Familiar with different types of databases, such as Postgres SQL , Oracle or MS SQL, so that they canhandle the demands for quality assurance. - The ability to understand and manage queries or validate the data in the backend and database knowledge is required.- Knowledge and experience in testing toolsAutomated testing tools : - Selenium, Appium, andTestComplete Performance testing tools: Tools likeLoadRunner, JMeter, and GatlingKey Responsibilities :- Develops detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.- Contributes to test planning, and when part of a Scrum team, builds test cases for stories in the given sprint, per story acceptance criteria- Participates in test case reviews and makes necessary updates.- Builds and uses test data required to accomplish execution of test cases.- Executes test cases, including manual and automated tests, and records test results.- Reports issues and defects along with appropriate background information for review.- Collaborates with developers on reproducing, detailing, and documenting reported defects.- Uses testing tools and follows processes required to complete testing work.- Traces tests to requirements for the given scope (ref:hirist.tech)
