About the Role :We are looking for a talented and passionate Java API Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our APIs, from design and development to deployment and maintenance. You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure our APIs are robust, scalable, and meet the needs of our users.Responsibilities :- Design, develop, document, and implement secure and efficient RESTful APIs using Spring Boot or a similar framework.- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code adhering to best practices and coding standards.- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to define and implement API functionality.- Utilize Java Persistence API (JPA) or Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tools for data access.- Integrate with various databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and external services.- Implement unit, integration, and potentially end-to-end tests to ensure API quality.- Troubleshoot and debug API issues to ensure optimal performance and functionality.- Monitor API health and performance metrics.- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Java technologies, frameworks, and API design best practices.- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.Qualifications :- Proven experience developing and deploying Java APIs using Spring Boot or a similar framework (minimum X years of experience, adjust X based on your needs).- Strong understanding of Java (including core Java, collections, concurrency) and object-oriented programming principles.- Experience with RESTful principles and web API design patterns.- Knowledge of design patterns like MVC and microservices architecture is a plus.- Experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and integration testing tools.- Experience with build automation tools like Maven or Gradle.- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.- Strong communication and collaboration skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Bonus Points :- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.- Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or OpenAPI.- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.Benefits :- Opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects.- Work in a collaborative and supportive environment.- Competitive salary and benefits package.- Continuous learning and development opportunities.
