Job Description:We are seeking a seasoned Linux Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and maintaining Linux-based systems in enterprise environments. As a Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our Linux infrastructure, as well as implementing best practices for system administration and automation.Key Responsibilities:- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu, and other distributions.- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server resources to ensure high availability and performance for mission-critical applications and services.- Implement security measures, including access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security patches, to protect Linux servers from security threats and vulnerabilities.- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies and compliance requirements.- Install, configure, and maintain system services and applications, such as web servers (Apache, Nginx), databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), DNS, LDAP, and email services.- Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).- Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.- Collaborate with other IT teams, including network engineers, system architects, and developers, to design and implement integrated solutions and troubleshoot complex issues.- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and training for other team members.- Stay updated on the latest Linux technologies, trends, and best practices, and evaluate new tools and techniques to improve system efficiency and performance.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- 10-12 years of experience as a Linux Administrator in enterprise environments.- Deep understanding of Linux operating system internals, kernel tuning, and system performance optimization.- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools for system administration and task automation.- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configuration.- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, ELK stack) for system monitoring and troubleshooting.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.- Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), or CompTIA Linux+ are highly desirable.
