Job Description MS SQL Server DBA (L3 / L2 Level Support for SQL Server): 2022 / 2019 / 2017 / 2016 / 2014 Hands on technical experience with AG replica failover/Failback and HA-DR Solutions (Log shipping / Replication / Mirroring). Experience in Database Administration including Installation, Configuration, User Access Management, Backup/Recovery, Monitoring and Performance Tuning, Space Utilization. Troubleshoot issues related to SQL Backup – Restore, DB performance, Shrink DB files, Blocking and deadlock, SQL Server Build including Post QA checks. SQL Server Upgradation / Patching on Always ON / Standby servers. Perform system health checks and provide recommendation reports. PowerShell programming experience preferred (would like to automate sql installs, and other processes) DB maintenance plans, Plan and Perform Patching (pre and post checks), Server Decommissioning Administration and refinement for Monitoring tools: Review, revise, and update monitoring thresholds and alerts to enable infrastructure stability. Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers. Apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server. Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions. Configure automated alerts to send a mail to team if any issues. Work on incidents ,change tickets and problem tickets. Primary Skills MSSQL DBA MS SQL Server DBA SQL Server Secondary Skills Troubleshoot always-on, replication, mirroring, locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them. Join bridge calls to troubleshoot and fix P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents. Responsible for physical database architecture and design, capacity planning, development, performance tuning, implementation Conduct T- SQL Code Reviews to ensure coding standards, best practices and avoid potential performance issues. Attend CAB ( Change Advisory Board) meeting and get proper approvals from product owners to implement DB changes. Document operational or newly engineered solutions properly to educate and inform the clients and DBAs from the various levels of the organization. Work on Writing custom stored procedures, t-sql queries , powershell scripts , views, and triggers based on requirements for DB maintenance and automate tasks. Work on writing technical and RCA(Root Cause Analysis) documentation. Join bridge calls to troubleshoot and fix P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents. work on performance tuning like provide suggestions to crete indexes and tune stored procedures. Troubleshoot recurring problems and fix them permanently. Conduct DB DR Drill activity , ensure to bring the DR site online if any outage at Primary site. Work on prepare and create standardize operational and process documents.
