About the job:Role: Senior Apigee engineer Location: Remote (India)Full timeRequirements:- Certification in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent experience.- Proven experience designing and implementing API solutions using Apigee- Strong understanding of API management principles, including security, scalability, and performance optimization.- Familiarity with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Pub/Sub.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.- Availability to work part-time on a project basis.Nice to have:- Experience with other GCP services such as Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, or Dataflow.- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.Role and Responsibilities:API Management:- Design, develop, and maintain API proxies, policies, and configurations using Apigee Edge platform to facilitate secure, scalable, and efficient API management.API Gateway Configuration:- Configure and customize API gateway settings, including authentication, authorization, traffic management, and caching policies, to meet project requirements and security standards.Integration:- Integrate Apigee Edge with backend systems, services, and databases to enable seamless communication and data exchange between API clients and backend services.Security and Compliance:- Implement security measures and best practices to protect APIs against common threats and vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.Monitoring and Analytics:- Set up monitoring and analytics dashboards to track API performance, usage patterns, and security incidents, and proactively identify and resolve issues as they arise.DevOps Automation:- Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and management of Apigee environments, and integrate Apigee with CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.Documentation and Training:- Create and maintain technical documentation, tutorials, and training materials for API developers and consumers, and provide mentorship and guidance on best practices for API design and usage.
