Job Description : We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Database engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Database engineer, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and architecting database schemas, with a primary focus on PostgreSQL and other databases. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our database solutions.Responsibilities : - Develop and maintain database schemas for adhering to best practices and scalability principles.- Architect database schemas to support the scalability and performance requirements.- Optimize database schemas for efficiency and performance, including indexing strategies, query optimization, and data normalization.- Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and system administrators to understand requirements and design appropriate database solutions.- Perform database performance tuning and monitoring to identify and address performance bottlenecks proactively.- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our data.- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and best practices to improve the performance and efficiency of our database solutions.- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior database administrators and developers within the team.Requirements : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- Master's degree preferred.- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on database design, optimization, and administration.- Expertise in developing and optimizing database schemas, particularly in PostgreSQL.- Solid understanding of database architecture principles, including data modeling, normalization, and indexing.- Proficiency in SQL programming and database query optimization techniques.- Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.- Strong knowledge of database security best practices and techniques.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Certification in database administration or related field (e. g., PostgreSQL Certified Engineer).- Experience with other database technologies, such as MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.- Familiarity with cloud-based database services, such as Amazon RDS.- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for database automation and deployment (ref:hirist.tech)
