Description:
Experience Level: Level IV (7-10 years)Responsibilities:- Manage and administer MySQL databases in a DevOps environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.- Provide expertise and support for Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) databases, including installation, configuration, and optimization (MSSQL experience is a plus).- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred) or AWS.- Develop and maintain automation scripts for database provisioning, configuration, backup, and recovery.- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure proactive identification and resolution of database issues.- Work closely with development teams to optimize database queries, schemas, and configurations for improved application performance.- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance tuning, replication problems, and data corruption.- Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities with minimal downtime and impact.- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.Skills Required:- Primary Skill: MySQL - Extensive experience in managing and administering MySQL databases in production environments.- Good to have: Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) - Experience with installation, configuration, and optimization of MSSQL databases.- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred) or AWS, including database services (RDS, Azure SQL Database).- Scripting/Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation of database tasks and workflows.- Operating Systems: Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, including command-line utilities and shell scripting.- DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and version control systems (e.g., Git).- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex database issues.- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
