Description:
Responsibilities :- Work with the Kubernetes, and Service Mesh team to manage our growing fleet of clusters globally, across multiple Cloud providers.- Work with the Development Tools and Service Mesh teams to implement and measure SLAs, SLOs, and MTTD/R for our services facing the rest of the organization.- Identify key feature gaps, bugs, scalability issues, and other problems in working with our internal customers, and collaborate with the team internally and our stakeholders and partners to implement solutions- Support our customers daily as they onboard and utilize our platforms, to help them maximize the value, performance, and reliability they can achieve for their workloads- Contribute to our platforms' capabilities as needed, with a focus on reliability and scalability.- Perform feature/functionality/usability trials of new tools that can benefit Roku.- Demonstrate great communication skills and a support-oriented mentality in working with technical and non-technical audiences.Requirements :- 5+ years of experience in a large company in an SRE or DevOps role, with a focus on cross-team engagement.- Past success in supporting a large, talented engineering team in utilizing a central common platform.- Patience, a friendly, helpful approach, and constructive communication are key traits; you must be a people person to succeed.- Expertise in using open-source observability tools in large-scale environments, including(but not limited to) Prometheus, Grafana, ELK(ElasticSearch+ Logstash + Kibana), Jaeger, Kiali, and/or Loki.- On-the-job familiarity with modern open standards for telemetry like OpenTelemetry, OpenTracing, andOpenMetrics.- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Istioas the architecture on which the observability platform runs, and how they integrate and scale.- The drive and self-motivation to understand the intricate details of a complex infrastructure environment.- Independently driven in a highly distributed, multi-national team spread across numerous time zones.- Hands-on experience working with AWS and/or GCP.- 3+ years of experience with a high-level scripting or infra language (such asTerraform, Helm, Shell, and/or Python).- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
