Description:
Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. You will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and overall availability of our critical Microsoft SQL Server databases and related application servers supporting our Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other corporate applications. Ensuring WMS uptime and reliability is paramount to our business operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of our corporate SQL databases through patching, code migration, and adherence to strict release management and change control processes.Responsibilities : Implementation : - Design and implement new SQL Server databases based on business needs.- Configure and optimize database performance for efficiency and scalability.Monitoring and Maintenance : - Proactively monitor SQL Server health and performance using appropriate tools and methodologies.- Perform regular database backups and ensure efficient recovery procedures are in place.- Identify and troubleshoot database issues to minimize downtime.- Implement automated tasks for routine maintenance activities.Availability and Security : - Maintain high availability of SQL Server databases for WMS and corporate applications.- Implement and enforce security best practices to protect sensitive data.- Manage user access controls and permissions.Patch Management and Code Migration : - Stay up-to-date on the latest SQL Server security patches and updates.- Apply patches and perform code migrations through established release management processes.- Adhere to strict change control procedures to minimize risks during database modifications.Additional Responsibilities : - Work with developers and application owners to understand data needs and optimize database performance.- Document database configurations, procedures, and standards.- Stay current with the latest advancements in SQL Server technologies and best practices.Qualifications : - Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.- Proven experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases.- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.- Familiarity with T-SQL scripting and stored procedures.- Experience with release management tools and change control processes.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
