JOB TITLE & JOB CODE Job Title (Job Code): Test & Commissioning Engineer (EN-VA-02_001) PURPOSE OF THE JOB Prepare and execute test and commissioning activities for signalling systems on field, in support to one or several projects Manage, as a team leader for T&C technicians/Engineers for wayside (Axle Counter, Point Machines, Signals, Object Controllers etc.) ORGANIZATION Organization structure (job belongs to ...) Regional Centre / Project Engineering or Field Operation Reports directly to: Project T&C Subsystem Leader Other reporting to: Project T&C Manager (PrCOM) Direct reports: T&C Engineers and Technicians Network & Links (Internal) Test & Commissioning team V&V team Installation team Quality team EHS team External System T&C Team, subcontractors, customer representatives MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Key Accountabilities Prepare and execute testing activities in support to one or several Projects on railway signalling systems under the direction of his / her hierarchy according to the testing procedure / documentation and following Sub-system T&C Leader and / or PrCOM instructions Ensure defects identification and correction (trouble shooting) In the event of a non-conformity observed during the commissioning phase, make a return experience (REX) towards the project, and ensure that all design related issues are correctly reported in the adequate tools, including the defect description and associated test context Ensure follow-up of detected issues and deliver the commissioning reports. Check that the test tools are in perfect working order and calibrated. Support V&V team and perform test in lab as per request Deliver the committed performance in terms of Quality, Costs and Deadlines and in compliance with Alstom policies, local standards and regulations (in particular EHS and Railway Safety) Performance Measurement Efficiency and proactivity during the execution of the T&C tests Compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards Quality of anticipation, monitoring and reporting MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES Educational Requirements Mandatory: Master/Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems) or equivalent experience. Good knowledge of English language (read, written, spoken) Desirable: Railway and signaling knowledge Any other additional language is an asset Experience Mandatory: 7-8 years of experience in T&C or V&V activities for signaling projects. Deep knowledge of T&C of signaling subsystems (Ex. ATS, On Board systems). Interface with V&V, Design, Installation stakeholders. Desirable: Previous testing skills Knowledge of ALSTOM rules and processes Quality, EHS and Railway safety Competencies & Skills Flexibility and mobility, available for short or long mission in different locations and countries Available to work at night, during weekends and on public holidays Rigorous & team player Resilience, with an analytic way of thinking in order to solve complex system failures Customer satisfaction and results orientated Able to communicate in an open and clear manner with various stakeholders Ability to use new technologies and tools Driving license.
