Job Title : Teradata Platform Engineer. Experience level : 8+ years. Location : Hyderabad/ Bangalore. Notice period : 0-30 Days. Job Description :We are looking for a Senior Teradata Database Administrator with expertise in configuring Teradata Database and ecosystem components, troubleshooting complex issues on large Teradata platforms, and driving RCA calls for troubleshooting across infrastructure, platform engineering, and application support teams.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capacity planning for hybrid Teradata infrastructure spanning on-premises and cloud environments and experience designing and implementing migration strategies for applications from on-premises to cloud.Responsibilities :- Configure Teradata Database and ecosystem components such as Query Grid, DSA, and Data Mover on various platforms including Teradata Intelliflex, Cloud (preferably Azure), and Teradata on VMWare.- Troubleshoot and isolate issues on larger Teradata platforms, including infrastructure, driving major RCA calls for troubleshooting.- Conduct capacity reviews, projections, and planning for hybrid Teradata infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.- Design and implement migration strategies for applications transitioning from on-premises to cloud environments.- Create, review, and optimize Semantic data models across physical and virtual implementations, demonstrating a deep understanding of relational database development and Teradata platform.- Write and tune complex SQL queries on large database systems, specializing in Teradata.- Perform data administration and maintenance tasks, including user management, performance tuning, and space management.- Implement failover, backup, and recovery strategies, including environment setup with tools such as DSA, NetBackup, and Teradata Data Mover.- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT and business teams, gathering data integration and reporting requirements from multiple domains and stakeholders.- Work closely with team members and IT leadership to classify and prioritize work efforts and tasks for data warehouse initiatives and projects.Desired Skillsets :- In-depth knowledge of Teradata Platform architecture, including underlying hardware infrastructure.- Strong understanding of Linux Operating System, storage array technologies, and network infrastructure used in Teradata Platforms.- Basic knowledge of VMWare technologies such as vSphere, VSAN, virtual networking, and Azure cloud.Skills & Requirements :- Proven experience in Teradata Database administration and ecosystem components.- Ability to troubleshoot and isolate complex issues on large Teradata platforms.- Strong capacity planning skills for hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.- Experience designing and implementing migration strategies for on-premises to cloud applications.- Proficiency in writing and tuning complex SQL queries on large database systems.- Solid understanding of Linux OS, storage technologies, and network infrastructure.- Familiarity with VMWare technologies and Azure cloud is a plus.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Location : Bangalore/HyderabadExperience : 8 to 10 Years Educational Qualifications : Bachelor's/Master's (ref:hirist.tech)
