Work with the team to codify EdGE infra into infra-as-code paradigm, for better tooling and manageabilityJob Description :- In this role, one would work as a TechOps/SysOps/DevOps engineer, working collaboratively with development and implementation teams to build systems and mechanisms that ensure better delivery, deployment, maintainability of our product platform and deployed instances. The job involves automating and streamlining the operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.- The role and the workplace motivates the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of the team and the individual. We are looking for people who love the challenge of building internet scale products and technologies and want to make a difference by being part of a team that is building one of the best solutions that aims to provide best match of a candidate for a job.Key Tasks and Responsibilities :- Automate, streamline all deployment activities- Monitor all production instances for incidents and trends- Implement best practices to ensure for an always-up, always-available service- Ensure the SaaS environment follows all the best practices of security and is secured well.- Optimize cloud infrastructure to reduce TCO- Work closely with Engineering to understand changes in each release and keep all tools up-to-date to ensure automated deployments-Plan, execute all planned downtimes for upgrades, maintenance activities etc- Own up all infrastructure related troubleshooting during unplanned outages- Escalate and communicate issues timely and thrive to seek quick resolutionThis is not just a Site-reliability/Build/Release engineer role. The role involves lots of problem solving, programming, systems design and engineering. We are a product firm in the enterprise software arena; the culture and environment is pretty dynamic.Qualifications :- The ideal candidate would have- A systems thinking mindset- The zeal to learn and upkeep themselves in the trade- Understanding and belief that "DevOps" is not just deployment/ monitoring/ maintenance/ cloud- <otivation to solve interesting problems and design/implement solutions at scale- Very comfortable with Linux CLI- Ability to find one's way around in shell/- nix deployments (dev and prod, both)- Great communication skills- Proficient with basic Linux administration (network shares, backups, maintenance, installation/upgrades)- Basically, someone who is smart and who can get things done. This is the most important one!Skills that would catch our attention :- Fecent programming skills in any of Experience building/managing infra and systems/tooling on cloud- Understanding of CI/CD, monitoring/alerting systems - some idea about related tools and practices- Working knowledge of git/bzr/hg (any DVCS)- any experience in AWS/OpenStack/Cloud- Conceptual understanding and some experience with various enterprise integration patterns- Experience and understanding of any RDBMS, NoSQL data stores- Experience and understanding of containers, orchestration systems etc (not just how, but why/when/where as well!)Nice to have :- Experience with distributed data/stream processing systems (Kafa, Storm, Spark, Hadoop etc)- Experience with commonly used cache/queue/search tools (Redis, Memcache, Couchbase, RabbitMQ, nsq, ZeroMQ, ActiveMQ, Lucene, ElasticSearch, Solr)- Experience with Xen/VMWare/VirtualBox- Compensation is better than the industry average. Looking for someone with around 1-2 years of experience but this is not a limiting factor if the candidate is a fresher but shows promise and has decent skillset/portfolio to demonstrate (ref:hirist.tech)
